| About Julie Sydenham |
Jules (aka Julie Sydenham) spent the larger part of her childhood on the NSW south coast and from a very young age loved all things artistic. After a degree in Education (majoring in Visual Arts) followed by several years teaching Visual Arts in schools in Sydney, Jules made the "sea change". In the year 2000 she moved with her young family back to Milton NSW where she started her own Art Studio, which has since developed into a substantial business.
Leaving the school environment meant that Jules would have much more time to pursue her own goals as a professional artist. Since 2000 she has been regularly painting and creating between her many classes. She keeps very busy with commissions and other artworks and has won several prizes. Her work has been purchased both locally and internationally, and she is regularly asked to custom paint works for customers all over Australia.
Jules' has been featured in a variety of group exhibitions since she began exhibiting in 2004. Her hand-painted ceramic pieces have gained attention through the Australian Ceramics and Pottery magazine - her work was featured on the cover of the 2005 yearbook edition. Her work has also featured regularly in subsequent editions.
2005 saw Jules take on the coordinators role of the Escape Artfest - The Southern Shoalhaven Arts Festival, South coast NSW. "The festival is a dynamic celebration of all the arts in the region, from the visual arts including sculptors and photographers, to film, theatre, music, literature and other artistic pursuits. When visiting the area it's a wonderful opportunity to see and appreciate the diversity of artists living in the area."
